ARMELSAN DEFENSE is a leading organization which was established offering high-tech solutions tailored for the defense industry, specializing in sonar systems, underwater acoustic technologies, and work-class remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs), with advanced engineering capabilities, domestic production power, and an innovative approach.

2016

ARAS-2023 for TCG ANADOLU

Development activities for ARAS-2023 began as part of the Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship (LHD) Diver Detection Sonar Project.

2018

ARAS-2023 for TCG ANADOLU

Factory Acceptance Tests of ARAS-2023 within the scope of the Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship (LHD) Diver Detection Sonar Project were completed.

2019

MELİS-2071 for BYÖM 1-4

Development of MELİS-2071 subcomponents began under the New Generation Hull-Mounted Sonar Subsystems Project for the Mid-Life Upgradation of Barbaros-Class Frigates.

KAŞİF

Production of the “KAŞİF” Heavy Work-Class Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) began for deployment in natural gas exploration activities in the Black Sea.

Production of ARAS-2023 began under the Diver Detection Sonar Procurement Project for the Mid-Life Upgradation of Barbaros-Class Frigates.

Production of ARAS-2023 began under the Diver Detection Sonar Procurement Project for the Mid-Life Upgradation of Barbaros-Class Frigates.

ORKUN-2053 for Product Launch

Turkey’s first indigenously developed dipping sonar, ORKUN-2053, was introduced at the IDEF 2021 defense exhibition.

ARAS-2023 for BYÖM 1-4

Factory Acceptance Tests of ARAS-2023 under the Diver Detection Sonar Procurement Project for the 1st Ship of the Mid-Life Upgradation of Barbaros-Class Frigates were completed. Deliveries of ARAS-2023 to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Ships followed over time.

MELİS-2071 for BYÖM 1-4

Factory Acceptance Tests of MELİS-2071 components under the New Generation Hull-Mounted Sonar Subsystems Project for the 1st Ship of the Mid-Life Upgradation of Barbaros-Class Frigates were completed. Deliveries of components to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Ships followed.

2023 for TCG ANADOLU

ARAS-2023 entered the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces after successful sea trials as part of the Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship (LHD) Diver Detection Sonar Project.

Production of ARAS-2023 units began under the Diver Detection Sonar Procurement Project for MILGEM 6–12 ships.
