ARAS 2023/ Diver Detection Sonar to be used at TCG Anadolu (LHD)

Being the 4th country in the world to produce its own Diver Detection Sonar, the system produced by ARMELSANat Teknopark Istanbul will be used at TCG Anadolu (LHD), a multi-purpose amphibious assault ship along with other platforms.

According to Ismail Demir, President of Defence Industry, the second part of the construction at Teknopark is finally over and applications are coming from various companies.

Mr Demir emphasized on the incoming and developing investments near the Teknopark area including an airport, meeting and gallery centres, current and future investments for hotels, university and companies.

He believes that high number of applications from companies is a strong indicator of how desirable and exquisite this project is.

78 MILLION DOLLARS IMPORT, 4500 PERSONNEL EMPLOYED

Bilal Topcu, General Manager of Teknopark Istanbul, underlined a significant import budget of 78 million dollars; high levels of employment by these 280 R&D companies situated in Teknopark. During 8 years since Teknopark is established, these companies have used exemptions worth 450 million Turkish liras.

According to him, Teknopark differs from other technoparkswith their collaboration and project management with multiple universities; Mr Topcu claimed that they mainly focus on defence industry, aviation and space, and naval sectors.
