President of Defence Industries Prof. Dr. Ismail Demir Visits Teknopark Istanbul

President of Defence Industries Prof. Dr. Ismail DEMIR has visited Teknopark Istanbul on the 5th of December. Following the initial introduction by Teknopark Istanbul President Bilal Topcu, Prof. Dr. Ismail Demir has visited Altinay, Armelsan and Focus firms to inspect the current projects on-site.

After examining the Serce Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, Smart Pneumatic Bomb Releaser and Sat-Com Antenna Pedestal by Aerospace, Demir received information about the first domestically built mobile Diver Detection Sonar system ARAS-2023 developed by Armelsan. Demir also examined the Land-Based Laser Target Designator and the Laser Target Designator for Stable Gimbal Platforms being developed by FOCUS.

In a statement he gave to the Anatolian Agency, Demir stated “The defense industry focused clustering we established in Teknopark Istanbul can serve the greater technology and civilian sectors in Turkey. This area will contribute to the development of the defense industry. A company we have established regarding boron technologies will also be based here. Our leading defense firms including HAVELSAN, ASELSAN, TUSAS and ROKETSAN will continue their developments in the Teknopark. We’re expecting them to be another driving force here.”.
